What does this funding get me?
The Central Midlands Council of Governments (SC) will reimburse expenses incurred by successful applicants for events that engage the public in climate conversations. Conversations will inform the region’s climate action plan.
Am I eligible?
Eligible applicants include nonprofits, local governments, schools, and institutions of higher education. Events must be held in (or virtual events must be available to residents of) the Central Midlands region of South Carolina (Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, Newberry, Kershaw, Calhoun, and Saluda counties).
How can I access the money?
Visit Central Midlands COG’s Climate Planning page and click “Climate Conversations Mini-Grant Application” in the right margin (or at the bottom of the page on a mobile phone) to download the instructions and application.
What is the timeline?
Applications are open until funds are spent (probably before the end of 2025).
What other incentives could I use to help me accomplish my goals?
- Check the Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency (DSIRE) for additional incentives that may be offered by your state, local government, or utility, as well as important federal, state, and local policies. For questions regarding DSIRE, contact Justin Lindemann (NC Clean Energy Technology Center) at jplindem@ncsu.edu.
